Growth companies

What gets a company to one milestone may not get it to the next. Growth demands constant decisions about customers, markets, capital and focus, often with incomplete evidence and the next funding round in view. We help ambitious scaleups make those choices, strengthen their market positions and earn the confidence of customers, investors and other stakeholders. The challenge is not just to grow, but to build tomorrow’s business while delivering today’s results.

When clients call us

When preparing for or navigating a funding round. A strong business does not automatically command strong investor demand. We help founders sharpen their investment case, demonstrate progress and strengthen market confidence ahead of and during fundraising. This can involve positioning, third-party validation, leadership visibility and investor communications. The aim is to improve the prospects of a successful raise and put the company in a stronger position on valuation and terms.

When a window opens or the timeline compresses. A launch, a large customer’s decision, a competitor’s round or public criticism can bring forward a judgment the company expected later. In a category still establishing itself, one company’s setback is read as the category’s. We prepare the position, the sequencing and the stakeholders before the moment, and work through it with leadership when it comes.

When growth depends on winning broader market trust. Product-market fit does not automatically translate into market confidence. Customers and partners need reasons to choose a company over established alternatives. We identify what drives their decisions, strengthen positioning and build the credibility, relationships and third-party validation that support commercial growth.

When new markets or partnerships could accelerate growth. Success in one market does not guarantee recognition, access or demand in the next. Nor does a promising partnership necessarily translate into business. We help sharpen the commercial proposition, identify the people and organisations who can open doors, and build the relationships needed to turn opportunities into growth.

When growth brings a new level of scrutiny. A company accustomed to moving quickly may suddenly face questions from the media, regulators, investors or the public that it lacks the experience or structures to manage. We help leadership assess the exposure, establish the facts, prioritise the response and protect the relationships on which continued growth depends.

The role we play

We work directly with founders and leadership teams on the decisions and initiatives shaping their next stage of growth. We bring independent judgement and practical expertise, working with commercial teams, investors and partners where needed. We remain close to the work: our role is to sharpen the choices leadership makes and help turn them into results.

Relevant experience

Our work spans venture- and growth-backed companies across industries and European markets, as well as their investors. Assignments have covered competitive positioning, go-to-market strategies, market entry and partnerships, new initiatives, investment cases for growth rounds and the public profiles of founders and leaders.

Working with us

Fast-growing companies rarely lack opportunities, they lack time to pursue them all. We help establish where market perceptions matter most, what customers and investors need to see and which relationships can make a difference. The work may involve sharpening a proposition, building evidence, securing third-party support or opening new doors. We favour a few consequential moves over a long list of activities.
